July 21-25, 2008 @ Amherst Pepsi Center, Amherst, NY
- Camp Cost / 5 Days - $475.00
- Registration & Payment in Full by JULY 1, 2008
**THIS CAMP IS AGE RESTRICTED TO 1993 BIRTH YEAR AND UP BY PROFILE APPLICATION REVIEW**
I developed this camp for the college or Major Junior bound goalie that is dedicated
to making a career out of hockey. With two intense ice sessions per day, my Xtreme
camp will push your desire and dedication to their limits, affording you to take your
skill sets, concentration, and confidence to the next level of play.
CAMP ITINERARY
1) MORNING CLASSROOM (9:00-10:00) You will start your day with the first of two classroom sessions featuring guest speakers such as sport psychologists, nutritionists, scouts, and coaches with college or pro level experience.
2) HIGH INTENSITY FOOTWORK CLINIC (10:30-12:00). The footwork clinic will be the most demanding of "no puck" footwork drills I have devised. Repetitive timed footwork speed sets will drive you to your limits for anaerobic capacity, endurance, and increased lung capacity and muscle recovery time while perfecting your positional accuracy, specific save positioning, recovery, and lateral/vertical movement techniques. Completing the first ice session you will be allotted a 30-minute cool down period to re-hydrate and change to dry equipment.
3) HIGH INTENSITY GAME DRILLS CLINIC (12:30-2:30). This clinic will create a cohesive coupling of the first clinic to the second for an extremely intense on- ice session of game scenario shooting drills. From station to station you will be challenged to push your reaction and reflexes to the puck, rebound control to specific save positioning and recovery, foot speed in relation to angle accuracy, and eye/hand coordination coupled with intense concentration techniques. Several new pieces of on-ice training equipment: Reaction Mirror Screen Board, Lateral Movement Shuffle Master, Deflection Boards, High Shot Screen Board, and a Boni Puck Machine, will be incorporated along with mini-pucks, white pucks, and focus enhancers. Completing the second ice session you will be allotted a 15-minute cool down period to re-hydrate, change, and assemble for the second classroom session.
4) VIDEO TECHNIQUES ANALYSIS (3:00-3:45). I will break down the goalies strengths and weaknesses, asserting to the goalie being reviewed, to recognize their strengths for further development and weaknesses for corrective action to be reviewed at the next day's video analysis class.
5) OFF-ICE XTREME CONDITIONING CAMP (3:45-4:30). I specifically designed the off-ice Xtreme conditioning camp for the physical attributes required by today's professional goaltenders. Conditioning drills will include: balance boards and reaction balls for coordination; ladders and footwork drills for agility and quickness; parachute, dual resistive harness, and medicine ball drills for power, and reaction belts for reading and reacting. There will also be a strong emphasis on core training.
